My Mother told me when she was about 4 or 5 months pregnant, she and Dad had a picnic under
an old apple tree.
She said she fell asleep, when she woke, Dad was gone. She thought he had left her and she started
to cry.
He had slipped away and drove around the bend in
the road and parked.
She said she was crying so hard she didn't hear him
sneak up behind her and kiss her on the neck.
She swore that is how my sister got a perfect little
birth mark at the bend of her arm, shaped like an apple tree.
And that is the family ledgend of the Apple Tree.. :)

In the attic I found a rusty can of Genealogy in the dark.
I decided to write down what I found there if only on a lark.
To my amazement when I opened that can, worms slithered off in all directions .
Now finding errors in my search, I am looking for corrections .
I am spending my retirement years tracing those darned worms down.
I confront my Family with my search but they all stand and frown.
Stooped shouldered and sleepless I dig through the past.
Hoping someday I will find those worms and my search will end at last.
